The goal is to accurately hit the moving targets with a shotgun. Trap shooting is a competitive and enjoyable sport that tests a shooter’s skill\, accuracy\, and consistency. \n\nHere are the key features of an American clay shoot competition: \nEquipment: Shooters typically use shotguns\, usually 12-gauge or 20-gauge\, although other gauges may be used. The type of shotgun and ammunition allowed may vary based on the specific competition rules. \nClay Targets: Standard trap shooting involves the use of clay targets\, which are disc-shaped and launched from a trap machine. The shooter stands at a designated shooting station\, and the trap machine sends the targets flying into the air in a specific pattern. \nShooting Stations: Competitions are held at shooting ranges with multiple shooting stations\, typically five in a row.
